Character: Mary Lennox
Sophie was born on 16 November, 1999. She attends the Mary Erskine and Stewart’s Melville Junior School in Edinburgh where she has performed in musicals and dance productions.
Theatre includes: Turandot (Edinburgh Playhouse 2009); Never Forget (Edinburgh Playhouse 2009); Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat (Alhambra Theatre, Dunfermline 2010).
Sophie has a variety of hobbies which include singing and dancing, art, tennis, bike rides with her family, gardening and looking after her pet hamster.
Sophie loves the story of The Secret Garden and although she thinks Mary is a rather selfish girl she sympathises with her and admires her strength. Sophie feels she and the character Mary have some things in common with both of them having an interest in gardening, nature and a love of the outdoors. Sophie is really excited and very proud to be performing in this production. She loves the atmosphere of a professional theatre and to be part of a cast and crew is so thrilling. Sophie says “This is my dream coming true”.
