Gavin MitfordGavin is currently Associate Director for the SHIKI theatre in Japan, where he directed The Sound of Music and most recently a workshop/studio production of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal. He is also the Children’s Director/Associate Choreographer for the West End, UK tour and Canadian productions of Jeremy Sams and Arlene Phillips’ The Sound of Music. He has directed and choreographed the original physical theatre works Emotor (Sydney Opera House), Soul Effect (NIDA Theatre) and Grace (The Wharf Theatre) for Sydney Dance Company. He was Associate Director/Choreographer for the musical The Sleeping Beauty (Sadler’s Wells), Associate Choreographer for Mitradate (Royal Opera, Covent Garden), Assistant Choreographer for Carousel (Chichester Festival Theatre), La Belle Helene (English National Opera) and Movement Director for The Local Stigmatic (Curtains Up Theatre, Barons Court).

Film and TV includes:
Gavin worked with Choreographer Francessca Jayne in Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd (Warner Bros) and Saul Dibb’s The Duchess (Paramount); He has also choreographed for Strictly Come Dancing (BBC). Gavin has directed the short films About Turns (premiered SOHO – 16mm festival cafe), First Came Loss and Princess – Less.
